Works the way phones already work
Tapping a tag opens its card, and the card hands the phone a standard contact file it already knows how to save.
iPhone
iPhone XS and newer read the card from the lock screen. The contact opens as a Create New Contact sheet.
Android
Any Android phone with NFC switched on opens the card in its browser and saves to Contacts.
Every other phone
Print the card's QR code on the back. Any phone camera opens the same page.
Private unless you hand it over
A card opens from its own tag. There is nothing to browse, search for or guess.

Questions firms ask
Does the person tapping need an app?
No. iPhone XS and newer read the card straight from the lock screen, and Android phones with NFC switched on open it in the browser. Older phones can scan the QR code printed on the back.
What happens when someone leaves the firm?
Turn their card off in the portal and their tag stops working the same second. Their successor makes their own card from an invitation.
Do we have to program the tags?
No programming. Sign in to Tessel Tags, our Android app, and each tag is written in a few seconds. Admins can write every card at the firm, and everyone else their own.
Which tags work?
Any NTAG213, NTAG215 or NTAG216 card, sticker or key fob. Even the smallest has room to spare.
Could someone overwrite a tag we hand out?
Not once it's locked: Tessel Tags can lock a tag for good once it's written. Details still change freely afterwards, because they live on the card, not on the tag.
