Terms of service
Last updated 30 September 2026
These terms apply when a firm uses Tessel, the service provided by Tessel (“we”). By starting a free trial or using the service, the person who creates the firm’s account accepts these terms on the firm’s behalf and confirms they may do so.
1. The service
Tessel gives each person at a firm a digital business card, reached by tapping an NFC tag or scanning a QR code, and a portal where the firm invites its people, chooses the look of its cards and sees how they are used. The firm writes its NFC tags with Tessel Tags, our Android app.
2. Free trial
- Every new firm gets a free trial of one month from the day its account is created. Nothing is charged during the trial.
- When the trial ends, the firm may be asked to choose a paid plan to keep its cards showing. Until it does, the cards are paused, but nothing is deleted.
- We may change or end the trial offer for new firms at any time; this does not affect a trial already running.
3. Plans and payment
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment provider, Stripe, at the price shown when the plan is chosen, plus VAT where it applies.
- A plan covers up to the number of people it states. A firm can change or cancel its plan at any time from the portal; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
- If a payment fails, we may pause the firm’s cards until it succeeds.
- We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email of any price change for an existing plan.
4. Your responsibilities
- Keep sign-in details safe, and only invite people who work for or with the firm.
- Make sure the information on each card is accurate and that the people on the cards are happy for it to be shared with whoever taps their tag.
- Don’t use the service for anything unlawful, to send spam, or to try to access other firms’ data or disrupt the service.
5. Your data
The firm owns the information it and its people put into Tessel. We process it on the firm’s behalf to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy. Where the firm is the data controller for its people’s personal data, we act as its data processor and these terms, together with the privacy policy, form our data processing agreement.
6. Tags
Tags we send become the firm’s property. Each tag opens one person’s card and keeps working while that card is active and the firm has an active trial or plan. If a tag is lost, the firm can replace it in the portal and write a new one with Tessel Tags.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep Tessel available at all times, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted service and may carry out maintenance. We may improve or change features; we won’t remove a core part of the service a paying firm relies on without reasonable notice.
8. Ending the service
A firm can stop using Tessel at any time and ask us to delete its account and data by emailing cmheimvik@gmail.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. After an account is closed, we delete the firm’s data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.
9. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any twelve months is limited to what the firm paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will tell firms about material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means accepting the new terms.
11. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, and disputes belong to its ordinary courts. Questions: cmheimvik@gmail.com.
